Altillion has continued demonstrating production of high-purity crystalline iodine directly from produced water using its proprietary IRIS process — confirming the company can deliver a saleable, offtake-quality product from brine that operators currently treat as waste.

Across testing on brine from multiple sources, the IRIS process has consistently exhibited high iodine recovery and the production of crystalline iodine at mass purity comparable to the highest quality commercially traded iodine.
Maximizing recovery and producing an offtake-grade iodine product are vital for successfully entering global iodine markets, which require competitive product pricing and stringent quality specifications. By generating that product directly — without the large-footprint, energy-intensive concentration steps used in conventional production — IRIS is designed to integrate with existing produced-water infrastructure at lower capital and operating cost.
“This proves our technology both extracts iodine with high efficiency and delivers a product that the market needs,” said Jay Keener, CEO of Altillion. “Our focus now is rapidly scaling that capability to commercial volumes.”
