Investment Supports Deployment of Pilot Facilities and Commercial Operations
Houston, TX — June 1, 2026 | Altillion has secured a feasibility project in the Permian Basin to evaluate the recovery of multiple critical minerals from produced water generated by existing oilfield operations.

The project highlights Altillion’s ability to aggregate complementary technologies and collaborate across the industry, as the project will be executed as a consortium of strategic technology partners. Through the targeting of four minerals from produced water sources, this effort will evaluate the commercial viability of integrating on-site mineral recovery into active operations. Work includes feasibility testing and process development aimed at defining a path to commercial-scale implementation in the field.
The Permian Basin generates an enormous daily volume of produced water, making it one of the largest opportunities in the United States to recover critical minerals without building new extraction infrastructure.
“This is the kind of project that proves the economics where the volumes actually are,” said Scott Buckwald, COO of Altillion. “Recovering more than one mineral from a single produced-water stream is how we turn a disposal liability into a meaningful new revenue line for operators.”
